Folklore:

First discovered in the late 18th century, in Paul Island Newfoundland. Inuit legend says that the Aurora Borealis were trapped inside the rocks. It is said that a warrior tried to free the lights with this spear - but the strength of the rocks was too strong, trapping the beautiful lights inside of them, crystallized forever.
