Folklore:

Miners were often frustrated when finding Sphalerite due to the fact that it looks like Galena, but doesn’t contain lead which they were looking for at the time.

It was believed that Fluorite was crystallized light and could help achieve enlightenment by bringing light into the brain. Fluorite was also deemed to be the “home of the rainbow” because of its many colors.
